Daz's Rock 4 Charity

A last-minute Concert fundraiser is taking place on The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare on Friday 27th January 2012 6.30pm onwards. The night was to be raising funds for a friend I've known for over 20 years, Craig Dunn (Drummer from The Tonemasters). Craig's wife Kerry had been refused funding for life-saving cancer treatment, which cost £18,000 and they have a beautiful young daughter Ruby who is 5 and when Ruby was born, was born premature, due to that happening Ruby cannot speak and is autistic, so I felt I had to help. Their story was on the front page of Thursday 15th December's Weston Mercury here is the link for you to read http://www.thewestonmercury.co.uk/news/mum_s_fight_for_life_after_ruby_won_hers_1_1153543
I immediately contacted the Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare and they very kindly offered the use of the pier free of charge, all we have to pay for is the security and a few other items.
The concert would've hopefully found the money to secure Kerry's treatment, but a fantastic turn of events happened. With a mixture of people power, media coverage and Kerry and Craig's local MP, the North Somerset PCT caved in and are now funding Kerry's treatment. Therefore Kerry has expressed that the concert profits will be now donated to Teenage Cancer Trust South West, and will help towards the building of a specialist building to treat young cancer sufferers.
TCT South West are thrilled to have been chosen by Kerry and the event will be fantastic and help many. many people who have been hit with this terrible illness.

The doors open for the concert 6.30, first band is on 7.30 and the event finishes at 1am.

The bands / acts confirmed are: Flash Harry, The Communicators, Capone, Beyond Control, Craig Dunn and Friends / Daz and Friends. There will also be a DJ inbetween band change-overs.

Tickets are £9.50 available from Daz 07976 629132, any of the acts, The Retail Shop on 1st floor of The Grand Pier, The Crown, Staple Hill. Bar BS3, Ashton.

There will be a concert programme and also 2 AV screens (which as well as filming the event will have sponsors logos inbetween band change-overs) so if you or your company are interested in sponsoring the event please get in touch with Daz 07976 629132

The Concert and Kerry's story has been covered on ITV, BBC Points West, The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, The Sunday Times, The Weston Mercury and The BRistol Evening Post and we may have a DVD of the event also. Please tell your friends and lets try and sell out the 2000 tickets in Kerry's name and to help Teenage Cancer Trust South West in their bid to build a specialist building.
Thanks for your support Daz xx ;-)
