Back at Bar BS3 for a day of live music and fundraising. The stage was kindly erected by Poplar Scaffolding free of charge, and dressed and set up by Andy, Daz, Dave Ian and Rich, who also set up the PA, thanks to Andy for donating his PA for use, and Pat for helping. Beaver for use of his speakers also. The first act was up at 2pm Elipsis kicked off the event and got the atmosphere going, followed by Beyond Control who were well supported and played some new material with new band member Claire. Next up were The Treacles who played an hour set of Beatle classics and got the crowd singing and dancing. Before The Treacles played their 2nd set, Danny and Andy Pugh performed 2 acoustic songs to great acclaim, Danny took the vocals with style and panache. The Treacles then belted out Fat Bottomed Girls and a few other classic before handing over to the mighty Chuff to finish the stint in the garden. Andy, Dave and Mr Dicketts rocked the joint with timeless classics and then dedicating a song to the sadly missed Joe, (who was on stage looking over us during the afternoon and got the biggest cheers when his name was mentioned)

Daz was poised in the bar to keep the crowd entertained from 6ish, and most of the 300 plus crowd stayed until the end at 11pm, the bar was a sea of heads, with people jumping around and having a fab time.

Gabe was able to get hold of some fantastic raffle prizes and lots of them, so a lot of people were winners, thanks to the people who donated prizes. Thanks also to Sarah, Rob, Bar BS3 staff, the acts, the audience for coming along and everyone else who helped in whatever way, there are too many to mention, but THANK YOU ;-)

Sunday Music Party, The Crown Staple Hill 2pm-9pm (Free Admission) 25/07/2010

Our last fundraiser to help with Daz's Rock 4 Charity Colston Hall expenses was at another great venue, The Crown, Staple Hill, run by Ian and Jane Selway. Although this was free admission, the almost 400 strong crowd were very generous in buying raffle tickets, many thanks to Karl and Teresa for their help in obtaining raffle prizes.

Paul Foster kicked off the afternoon and got the atmosphere going with his costume changes including the Cadbury's Gorilla and Elvis a fantastic start to what was to be a great day in sunny Staple Hill. Next up was Copperhead who appeared at Colston Hall last year and are also playing at this year's event, a mixture of originals and covers in the country rock vein, everyone clapped along and it felt like you were in Nashville! Teresa Alexander took to the stage then and performed a a massive mix of songs from old classics ranging right up to date, and gave it her all disappearing into the crowd and getting them involved, the garden was rocking! Time for a few special guests, Josh Clayfield aged only 13 played guitar with Daz and Mr Dicketts from Chuff, on Wonderwall on Wild Thing, this was his 1st ever gig, the crowd loved him and even though he snapped a string on the first song he carried on and was fab. Danny Pugh then took over and was well received by the throng of people basking in the heat, Mr Pugh senior accompanied him. Then we had Joe Peake who brought his tenor sax along and performed an absolutely amazing version of "One Step Beyond" which made the garden erupt!!! Everyone was on their feet doing the nutty dance and then Chuff finished off the garden stint with Daz, playing everything from the likes of The Jam, and other rock classics, finishing off with Freebird. During this time Jezza Screen was showing his close up magic to the tables, everyone was amazed, and also landlord Ian Selway got on the picnic tables and had his chest and back waxed. The Waxing was very kindly done by Denise and Michelle, (The Beauty Suite, Downend) Ian had raised well over £700 in sponsorship. After all the action in the garden had finished everyone went inside to watch Jon Clare and his show. Everything was perfect, great atmosphere, great people, top music, the burger van went well, the home-made chips were a hit, they donated a fee to the charity (thank you) Bringing total for the day to about £1600.
